The Makor Marin Teen Internship is perfect for anyone who wants to explore Judaism through the great outdoors, and enjoys being around children. Interns will learn the basics of running an event, gain Jewish mentors, a cohort of likeminded peers, and have exclusive Jewish learning opportunities. Ultimately, interns should be open to learning, growing and bringing their unique personalities and talents to Makor Marin!
Saturday Teen Sessions
These sessions will be our opportunity to grow our Jewish environmental knowledge and give us time to get to know each other. Together, we will learn about environmental Judaism through hands-on activities. During each session, we will hone our naturalist skills and in turn, think of ways to inspire young children to appreciate the great outdoors!
Working at Family Events
Each teen will sign up to work at least 3 events per programming year, depending on their schedule and carpools. Teen interns are welcome to attend all family events if they so choose and will earn volunteer hours accordingly. Some of these family events are on the same days as the Teen Sessions for scheduling ease.
To apply, please email a couple sentences to answer the questions below to Marianne Glaser, Teen Internship Director at MarianneMakor@gmail.com. Remember, there are no right or wrong answers- this is just a way for us to get to know you!
- Why do you want to work with families doing Jewish outdoor activities?
- Describe your other interests, hobbies and extracurricular activities.
- How do you want to grow through your participation in this internship?
- What are some of the skills and values you would contribute to Makor Marin? What is one example from your experience that illustrates one of those skills or values?
- Anything else you would like us to know?
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but please note that there are only a few slots left for this year’s cohort so anyone interested is encouraged to apply as soon as possible!
